Meter Removal
These works involve the removal of the gas meter and capping the supply feeder pipework downstream of the Emergency Control Valve (ECV). We manage the close co-ordination of site visits with the customer and the customer’s representatives as well as EAL’s meter installation partners, all of which are Ofgem Accredited Meter Installers (OAMI’s). It is necessary to purge all downstream pipework either during or prior to meter removal in order to make the system safe. Any removed meter will normally be taken from the site, unless there are physical constraints preventing this. Removal of downstream pipework can be undertaken by prior arrangement. Again the gas supplier is central to the industry required data exchanges.
