New Meter Installations
These works involve the fitting of gas metering installations and include, the meter itself, regulators and other ancillary equipment. Where required we will also include connecting pipework from the Emergency Control Valve (ECV) to the meter installation, which may require an additional charge. We manage the close co-ordination of site visits with the customer and the customer’s representatives as well as EAL’s meter installation partners, all of which are Ofgem Accredited Meter Installers (OAMI’s). Again the gas supplier is the hub to the completion of metering works is central to the industry required data exchanges between Supplier, Shipper and xoserve. EAL manages the provision of data in industry recognised file formats.
Connection works from the outlet side of the new metering installation are the responsibility of the customer, but can be undertaken by arrangement (see “Works Downstream of the Meter” below).
Important: Note that new meter installations can only be carried out where a gas supplier has been contracted by the gas user. This ensures that metering charges can be collected by the MAM from the gas supplier.
